October Ipsy Glam Bag Review

Okay, I’ve been with Ipsy for a while now. I think it was January of …. 2013 (?) when I joined. Ipsy, in case you’re not familiar, is a monthly beauty subscription service for $10 a month. It’s not just a subscription service, though. Michelle Phan (Youtube sensation and Ipsy founder) has worked hard to make this a community that shares their thoughts on not only that month’s products but the beauty world in general.

In the beginning it was awesome in my opinion. Yeah, it was before they really started customizing the bags, but I got good stuff. Lately I haven’t really been thrilled. I know it’s only $10 a month, but that’s no reason to stay with a service if it’s not making me happy. And Ipsy must be watching me or something, because every time I’m ready to cancel they send me a great bag! This was one of those months.

This month I received in my black/gold bag was a body lotion by Beauty Without Cruelty, a medium eye shader brush from Royal & Langnickel, an argan face serum from Nourish Organic, a Hello Lashes mascara sample from It Cosmetics, and a sample of Meet Matt(e) Hughes Long-Lasting Liquid Lipstick from The Balm.

So far I’m loving everything. Thanks to Ipsy, most of these brands are coming to light for me. I’ve received various products from all of these brands (except for one) and they are quickly becoming all-stars in my beauty routine.

The only new brand I encountered was the brush brand Royal & Langnickel and the brush is simply amazing. It’s super soft and really packs on pigment.

I’m sure most people who received this bag are gushing over the It Cosmetics mascara or the liquid lipstick from The Balm, but I’m super excited to have more products from Beauty Without Cruelty and Nourish Organic. These brands are doing wonders for my dry/sensitive skin without any weird chemicals.

I don’t know what else to say, but maybe a few months of duds are worth the month with the home-run products!

Do you have Ipsy and, if you do, what do you think? And if you’re interested click this link to get started with your first glam bag!
