This past weekend was the Labor Day long weekend and I took the opportunity to take a quick trip with my husband. While packing I had a realization that might ring true with most of you as well; packing my makeup bag is my favorite part and the most stressful part.
I don’t want to spend all day on my makeup while on a quick trip. I just want to wake up, put myself together in 15 minutes, and begin exploring. My weekend trip bag probably is the most minimal amount of product I will ever use, but that does not mean I don’t care what products I have with me. If anything, it means I want my favorite products with me. I want to know exactly how these products will work for me and I want to be able to work with them quickly.
For this trip, I packed my cosmetics in an Elizabeth Arden bag I got as a gift with purchase years ago.
The first product is the Bareminerals Prime Time tinted primer. It smooths my skin and blurs imperfections before foundation. It can also work as my only face product for really quick mornings.
Next is the Sephora Teint Infusion Ethereal Natural Finish foundation. Oh goodness, that’s a long name! Any way, this is a super hydrating foundation that has a build-able coverage. I can blend this in with my fingers or a damp sponge.
Then it’s my handy dandy Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser in brightening. This product just perks up my complexion and makes me look wide awake. Sometimes I just use the tinted primer and this concealer for my complexion.
Probably the most useful product in my travel bag is my Nyx Contour Kit. It has probably 90% of my look. This kit has a brightening shade that is a great setting powder, some bronzing shades to perk up my complexion, a good contour shade to create some angles to my face, and great highlighting shades to strobe it up. And all of these shades double as my eyeshadow! Multitasker!
And my face is not done without my brows! The Nyx Eyebrow Cake Powder is my go to. It’s the perfect red color with a wax to hold my brows in place and it even has the perfect brushes included in this little kit.
My favorite tools to bring with me on any trip is my set of travel brushes by Sonia Kashuk and my Real Techniques blending sponge.
What do you bring with you on a weekend away? And did you guys have a great Labor Day weekend?
